This post is a going to be bit less happy than the previous one… [Warning: don’t look at photos 4, 5 and 6 if you don’t want to see images of a finger surgery.] I injured a finger while climbing in the Verdon, France. I went to see a surgeon in Marseille and was told almost right away that it was a complete pulley rupture. 😕 3 hours after I had entered the hospital the surgery was completed. So now… some months without climbing are ahead of me. 😣 This is hard. 😢 On a positive note: I had surgery yesterday afternoon and today the surgeon left on holiday! For 4 weeks! Incredible 🤯 A big thank you to surgeon André Gay @andre.gay.13007 and the IMMS (Institut de la Main et du Membre Supérieur) in the Beauregard hospital in Marseille. Thanks to @antonin.rhodes and @nolwenberthier who told me about the surgeon right after I had hurt my finger. And to everyone who sent kind and encouraging messages. Thank you! Photos: 4: the torn pulley (it had passed behind the tendon) 5: the pulley is restored 6: stitches post surgery 8: cast by @ericdelmares which I got today.
